The Coyoacán Design Studio 

The Acapulco chair, synonymous with laid back, resort-style living, represents the best of modern Mexican design. We worked with talented young designers in the Coyoacan neighborhood of Mexico City to give this classic an update.

Not only did we add more lounge appeal with a wider seat and more reclined angle, but we also introduced thick, natural leather sourced from Mexico’s leather capital, Leon. The leather, instead of the classic beachside plastic, elevates the design to bring this patio staple indoors. 

Inspired by warm desert vistas, we decided to complement this natural leather with a copper frame, creating a rich combination of texture and color.

Each one takes several days to weave, all made start to finish in a fair trade environment. Handcrafted in small batches, every chair comes with a hand-numbered tag.

This beauty is also available with a black base.
